Nashville, TN – Chaos erupted in the Tennessee House of Representatives on Tuesday after the passage of a controversial bill that would allow teachers and staff members to carry concealed handguns in schools. The bill received approval from lawmakers and now awaits the possibility of being signed into law.
According to the New York Times, if the bill becomes law, teachers and staff members carrying firearms would need to undergo required training and receive approval from school administrators and principals. However, parents would not be notified about armed personnel on campus.

The passing of this legislation follows that transgender mass shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville last year, where three students and three staff members lost their lives. The intention behind the bill is to provide protection for students in the event of an active shooter situation.
Tennessee state Senator Ken Yager (R) stated, “We are not trying to shoot a student but protect a student from an active shooter whose sole purpose is to get in that school and kill people.”
In response to the bill’s passing, protesters in the House gallery voiced their disapproval, shouting, “Blood on your hands.” Outside the Tennessee Capitol building, opponents of the bill flooded the hallways with signs displaying messages like “Kids Deserve More!” and “Have You Lost You Ever-Loving Minds?”

Representative Justin Jones (D) captured the moment of protest in a video, sharing it on social media. The video showed protesters chanting “Blood on your hands” after Republicans allegedly “cut off debate” and pushed the bill forward. Jones described the situation as “what fascism looks like.”

Cathy Barnett, a volunteer from the Tennessee Chapter of Moms Demand Action, raised concerns about how the handguns would be stored and preventing unauthorized access. She emphasized the need for critical answers regarding these aspects of the legislation.
The newly passed bill expands upon an existing law that allows law enforcement officers and private security guards to carry firearms in schools. Under the proposed legislation, teachers and staff members would require a handgun permit and approval from school officials and law enforcement agencies. The law would also establish a confidentiality rule regarding concealed carry permits.
Approximately half of the states in the country permit teachers or school employees with concealed carry permits to possess firearms on school premises, as reported by Giffords, a research group dedicated to reducing gun violence.

I’m pretty sure the law doesn’t force teachers to be armed. Only those trained in firearm safety and usage may conceal carry at their discretion. Those working themselves up into hysteria will be glad responsible adults are armed when a killer opens fire in a school. If we trust those in law enforcement, some with questionable psychological profiles and personality types, certainly we can equally trust teachers.
People also forget Police are a reactionary force, meaning they show up after it is over or has already started
Hysteria is the natural condition for Democrats.
I don’t so much care if teachers are armed or not–more guns in the hands of non-antisocial folks, the better–but it probably won’t deter violence from the antisocial types who resolve to commit mass murder. They are not worried about dying. At best, it will limit ever so slightly the resolve of the dumber would-be mass-murderers who can’t plan around the obstacle of the Armed Lunch Lady! No, in my opinion, outlawing ALL psychoactive drugs, except for people who are incarcerated, would go much further to reducing murderous rampages. But of course, no one ever suggests this because most of the parents whining about school safety are also pumping their annoying little kids full of those mood-screwing poisons! And they clearly find their kids to be annoying, or they wouldn’t dump them off on someone else 7-10 hours a day in the first place. But if sanity or even basic wholesomeness were ever a component of good public policy, then there wouldn’t be mandatory vaccines either, which are likely the cause of ALL autistic disorders, which foment society’s desperation to mitigate the disorders with drugs, which make these kids little ticking time bombs that occasionally go on murderous school rampages! Almost like it was orchestrated, hmm… Anyway, yeah, give the lunch lady a P365, and hope she’s not also on psychoactive meds! Probably not a good idea, though, to give guns and tactical training to any pride-flag-wavin’, trans-groomin’, BLM-rioting’, TDS-spewing employees. But then good luck with their subsequent lawsuits.

The democratic/socialist/communist left has to have chaos in our schools (i.e. mass shootings, racial tensions, riots etc) to get the public to accept draconian control. Never forget that the reasons that they was the people disarmed is because they are planning on doing things that you would shoot them for one you can’t.
I see the same two loudmouth ignorant lawbreakers inciting a riot again. Have these two been charged with insurrection or anything? Nope, must be nice to do whatever you want if you are a certain demographic. It is high time our Injustice system is reformed to include even the darker demographics. Tennessee is full of great people but stay away from Memphis and Nashville. Retribution Day is coming but can’t come fast enough!
A criminal is less likely to commit a crime when they know the “victim” is armed.

People are idiots who want students to be harmed and killed. I’m talking about these stupid young protesters who know nothing about anything cause they are still wet behind the ears and still wearing their baby diapers. Even some of the dumb politicians who are against this bill need to be voted out of office. You know who you are. Don’t give a damn about human life. This is to protect the students from someone who wants to come into the school to do harm. But I guess those who are protesting are against it want harm to come to the innocents students, what a bunch of stupid morons they are. I hope they never have kids of their own they are insane.
